Where To Stay

Cartagena’s Old City

Cartagena de Indias is one of the most historic and picturesque cities in the Caribbean. Founded in 1533, it is known for its colourful colonial buildings, flower-filled balconies and cobblestone streets, all enclosed by centuries-old walls overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The historic centre (Ciudad Amurallada) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the cultural heart of the city.
Our wedding celebrations will take place within the historic centre, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the unique atmosphere of Cartagena: walking through the old streets, discovering cafés and plazas, and experiencing the city together.
We therefore recommend staying inside the Old City (Centro Histórico) whenever possible. There are many boutique hotels as well as beautiful colonial houses and apartments available on Airbnb, all within walking distance of the wedding events.
Other areas, such as Bocagrande and Castillogrande, are also good options. These are the modern beachfront neighbourhoods where most international hotel chains are located, with high-rise buildings reminiscent of Miami Beach, about a 15-minute drive from the historic centre.
All options work well, but below you will find our recommended places to stay within the historic centre for the most convenient and memorable experience.
